Renault is relaunching the Twingo as a 100% electric model and turning the Défilé Renault, its flagship on the Champs-Élysées, into a concert venue. Four free evenings, some twenty artists, from MC Solaar to Kungs. The set has to hold up live and tell thirty years of pop icon.
The Twingo has always lived in pop culture. So each generation has its own window and its own soundtrack. The 90s: cassette, headphones, Game Boy and Tetris at giant scale. The 2000s: giant iPod and mirror spheres. Each module is visited like an album sleeve in volume, and photographed.
At the centre, the hello twingo stage: illuminated Tetris blocks as set, large suspended screen, entrance tunnel for the artists. The building's walkways become balconies. Each module was rendered in 3d to convince and validate, then translated into dimensioned drawings for fabrication.
