01 · the challenge

Get people talking without showing a thing.

A new IKEA store is opening in Vaudreuil. The event has to be created several weeks before the opening, with a clear constraint: no storefront, no date, no brand name. Saying everything kills the teaser. So the idea had to stand up without a single piece of information.

02 · the angle

Not a delivery. An arrival.

You don't open a store, you welcome new neighbours. Six pieces of furniture cast like actors: an age in their head, a walk when no one is looking, something that makes them grumble. Six character sheets written before the first 3D image. In two seconds, you recognise a personality before you recognise a product.

03 · the execution

One real shot, the rest in 3d.

FOOH format: 3D furniture integrated into a real exterior shot. A single shot filmed, everything else composited. Light, cast shadows, grain, parallax: compositing to the millimetre so the illusion never blinks. Lookdev, compositing and social versions produced in-house.

The campaign in motion.

The recap.

Six pieces of furniture turned into characters, one real shot, three social formats. A teaser that gets people talking about an opening without ever announcing it.
